Hacking Education for the Better [VIDEO 9:42]

Sophiya Chiang, a senior at Phillips Academy In Andover, Massachusetts, shares her thinking on how to hack education to adopt a pedagogy and practices that will be “the fastest and most effective way to incorporate creative thinking into the classroom.” She sees the infusion of technology as the conduit for making such a seismic shift in today’s schools, promoting the asking of questions and the seeking of answers while collaborating and problem solving, learning the kinds of literacies and skills that will help this next generation contribute meaningfully to our quickly changing knowledge economy. While simple and direct in its approach, this video points to much of what adult educators are discussing about disruption and innovation, and in the voice of the next generation who will lead this transformation.
